Math & Science Editorial Assistant

We are currently seeking a Math & Science Editorial Assistant. The position requires math and science editing skills, and strongly prefers individuals with educational publishing experience.

Required Responsibilities:

• Edit documents (texts, workbooks, promotional materials, letters) in subjects including math and science for content errors, mechanical errors, and typographical errors, as well as consistent and appropriate language
• Provide strong and consistent editorial voice for each product and product line
• Demonstrate excellent editorial work in all integration and revision assignments
• Assist with project management and production process as needed
• Coordinate and communicate with freelancers and content expert reviewers
• Compose well-written book sections, letters, documents, and creative copy
• Perform routine tasks such as filing and photocopying
• Have familiarity with basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook and above-average knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Education and Experience:

• This position requires a minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably with a concentration in math and/or science fields
• Prior publishing experience is a plus
• Background in educational publishing market is a plus
• High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred

Compensation:

• Base salary commensurate with experience

Layout and Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Layout Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail.

Required Responsibilities:

• Perform layout, formatting and typesetting of books using Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
• Assist Publishing department in creation/editing of technical math and science diagrams and icon sets in Adobe Illustrator
• Create visually appealing book covers
• Design and implement successful marketing materials such as advertisements and flyers
• Understand our products, markets, customers, technologies, and competitive advantages
• Have basic knowledge of professional printing 

Education and Experience:

• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in graphics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite is required
• 1-2 year experience in education is a plus
• High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred

• Base salary commensurate with experience
